An Appeal
We are now a community of 1050 social change makers working on different social issues in different ways but are connected by one bond NIRMAN! Yuval Noah Harari in Sapiens has said, “without knowing each other personally humans have found ways to help each other and that’s the uniqueness of our species which has helped us to become what we are today”. In Nirman community, each Nirmani hardly knows about 100 Nirmanis, but that doesn’t stop us from helping each other because of the strong bond we share as NIRMANIS.
We are all present to help each other intellectually, morally and we do that in many ways. While working on various issues we need these helps. But one more important thing is Finance. To provide financial assistance to our fellow Nirmanis, who have ventured into the unknown with the noble cause of helping the community, we the Nirmanis of Batch 8, have started a centralized Nirman Connect Fund. Member Nirmanis will commit a monthly amount to this fund. As and when any Nirmani needs money for his/her work he/she can get from this fund. Simple!
Objective
To provide financial support to Nirmanis who are engaged in socially relevant work.
What We Do
We take Donations

You can send money by any online means.

Minimum donation is Rs.100/month, maximum donation is as per donor's will.

Donor also can donate separately to specific causes for which money is requested from Nirman Connect as per his/her will.

Donation should be up to 5th of every month.

If the donor fails to donate in any month, he/ she must donate the combined amount of two months in the next month

If any donor fails to donate successively for 3 months he/she will be politely removed from group. Each time donor fails to donate he/she will be reminded.
We Disburse Money

The requester will submit proposal mentioning details of his/her requirement. (Proposal should contain the reason of request with its details, amount, account number, after how much time money can be returned etc)

The proposal should be submitted to mailto:nirman.connect@gmail.com in PDF format.

The minimum amount we would be giving is Rs.10,000 and the maximum amount would depend on our available fund.

The money will be sent via NEFT for maintaining the record.

The financial help given would be in the form of donation.

For too many requests comprising of both donations and loans, Nirman Connect team will give more preference to loans. To choose among many proposals, voting would be done among all the voting members. A link for voting would be sent to all the members separately. The one getting maximum votes would be the one to get the fund amount requested.

The requester must submit a detailed report after his/her work mentioning how donation has helped to fulfill the cause.

FAQ for Nirman Connect
Q 1. Is it a personal initiative or Nirman team is also involved?
Ans- It is a personal initiative by few Nirmanis of Batch 8.
Q 2. How much can we donate each month?
Ans- The amount can be anything equal to or greater than Rs.100. All we request from our donors is to donate a fixed amount each month. The donor is free to choose this fixed amount.
Q 3. What are the criteria for donation process?
Ans- We send a message to all Nirman Connect members and social groups of Nirmanis calling for proposals by those who are in need of financial assistance for some social cause. The minimum amount requested should be Rs.10,000 while the maximum can be as stated in the call for proposal message. Once we receive the proposals, we will put up the proposals for voting. The one getting the maximum votes from our members will be selected by Nirman Connect for receiving the requested amount.
Q 4. Who is the part of the voting process?
Ans- All the donor members of Nirman Connect will be part of the voting process. All the donors will be sent a facebook link to our closed-group members-only Nirman Connect page. Once joined, you can take part in the voting process. If the member does not have a facebook account, a google form link will be sent for voting.
Q 5. How will I be notified if any voting process is going on?
Ans- All the information regarding voting would be given on our dedicated Nirman Connect Members whatsapp group. The details and the link for voting would be shared on this group.
Q.6. Is there a follow-up process post amount disbursal?
Ans- Yes, a fund utilization report will have to be submitted by the recipient for the amount donated by Nirman Connect as and when requested by us. This report will then be shared with all Nirman Connect members.
Q 7. Is this initiative only for Nirmanis or can I share it with my Non-Nirmani friends?
Ans- This is strictly for and by Nirmanis.
Q 8. How will the amount be utilized if the amount becomes sufficiently large considering a lot of Nirmanis join this?
Ans- If the amount becomes sufficiently large with no donation recipients, a voting process would be used to determine if that amount can be utilized for some other purposes such as donations to other organizations including Nirman and SEARCH or to provide financial assistance to Nirman Kar Ke Dekho fellowship. Since we all want to do good in this world, rest assured we all will give a good thought to all the ideas of our donor Nirmanis.
Q 9. Does the borrower need to be a donor?
Ans- Not necessarily. A borrower can be any Nirmani whether he is part of Nirman Connect or not.
